I’M LAURA HERNÁNDEZ.​

Colombian photographer based in Bogotá D.C.

I began my photography training in 2013 and later studied Advertising at Universidad Central in Bogotá, where I found a natural connection between image-making, concepts, and communication.

For several years, I worked in advertising agencies, an experience that strongly shaped the way I approach photography: not simply as an image, but as a way of developing ideas, communicating, and connecting with the viewer.

Over time, my practice took a more personal direction. After the pandemic, I began exploring documentary and social photography more deeply, while also developing personal projects and collaborations with artists, brands, and different initiatives.

Today, I work independently across portrait, advertising, and commercial photography, while continuing to develop personal projects that explore different ways of seeing and engaging with images.

​

One of these projects is URONMODEL, born from the idea that everyone deserves to be seen. It brings portrait photography into a space where people, animals, places, and connections can become protagonists.

​

My work moves between the commercial and the personal, between an idea that needs to become an image and an image that can lead to a new question.
